Applications are now being accepted for the Pulos Scholarship. The scholarship was established through a bequest to St. George by Mr John Pulos. It is intended to provide scholarships to male and female graduates of Greek-American ancestry. Applicants need to be graduating high school seniors with an unweighted GPA of 3.0 and above. The applicant's family must be stewards of the church in good standing. Applications are done entirely online and can be found here. The deadline for submission of the application is April 1st. The 54th Washington Metropolitan Area AHEPA/DOP Scholarship Program Student Application is available in paper form in the church office and can also be downloaded from the church website. Completed applications are due March 29, 2024, so don’t delay. College Age Opportunities
The American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) is now accepting applications for its leading travel abroad program. This trip is designed to help Greek and Cypriot American college students better understand the core foreign policy issues in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southern European regions that are important to the interests of the United States and the Greek American community. During the three weeks, students will have the opportunity to experience first hand US foreign policy issues related to Greece and Cyprus. Trip is scheduled for June 11 - June 29th. One week in Washington DC, 1 week in Cyprus, 1 week in Greece Website - rolling admissions until March 31.
The AHEPA Journey to Greece program, a cultural immersion initiative, enables high school seniors and college undergraduates to earn up to six college course credits. Originally initiated in 1968, the program transported a youthful generation of Greek American youths to explore their ancestral culture and land. After a hiatus, it was revitalized in 2006 in collaboration with Webster University. Now in its 18th year, the 2024 AHEPA JTG program is accepting applications for individuals eager to delve into the rich culture and history that Greece offers.
